Joy Prisco headed up two fishing trips. On this first trip she brought her husband Joe Deglman, her son Joey, and her father Joe Prisco. All came down from New Jersey just to go fishing in Mississippi. Conditions were pretty good, but there was a little chop in the morning. On the way out, Joe landed a nice Hammerhead. We took some pictures and released him. The snapper were not too hot on this day and when we got to our primary honey hole about 60 miles out, it was flooded with sharks. After losing enormous amounts of tackle and being unsuccessful getting our lines down to the big fish, we pulled out to try elsewhere. Going another 10 miles we hooked up some monster submarine fish (probably large AJs) but could not seem to keep them from breaking us off on the structure. Frustrated, we headed in. Joey made two predictions that came true. He said his grandpa would catch a fish and a half and he was going to catch a Mahi. As we headed in, we came across a floating refrigerator that had a large school of chicken dolphin (Mahi Mahi). So Joey got his Mahi after all. Next time maybe it will be a bull. Total trip encompassed 14 hours and 155 miles.
